“Depending on God for everything may be difficult, but it’s the key to the victory we need every single day of our lives.”
*Galatians 5:16*
I choose not to conquer my flesh independently but to live and walk in the Spirit instead.
❤Exodus 13:17-18, 21 (NIV)
17When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”
18So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt armed for battle.
21By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.
❤The shortcut isn’t always the right way or the best road.
❤God knows what I have to go through and He makes sure that the road is clear. Even if I have to go through hardships, He is confident that I can make it because He already armed me for battle.
GOD IS AHEAD OF ME. HE PREPARES THE WAY. HE LIGHTS MY PATH.

“BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING”
❤ Genesis 39:5
From the day Joseph was put in charge of his master’s household and property, the LORD began to bless Potiphar’s household for Joseph’s sake. All his household affairs ran smoothly, and his crops and livestock flourished.
❤ God definitely wants to bless those who are around us.
❤ We are blessed enough so we must also be a blessing to others.
“BE PERSISTENT IN SAYING NO”
❤ Genesis 39:10
She kept putting pressure on Joseph day after day, but he refused to sleep with her, and he kept out of her way as much as possible.
❤ Be persistent in saying “no” to temptation and sin!
❤ Potiphar’s wife never stopped to seduce Joseph. Joseph also didn’t stopped in saying “no”. He fled from temptation! He persistently resisted her!
❤ The enemy is doing everything he could to tempt us and to lead us to sin and we must continually resist Him!
❤ Just as Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife so must we flee from all temptation.
I praise God for these wonderful revelations I’ve learned from my quiet time this past weeks.
Genesis 11 “God Breaks Every Selfish Desire”
4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”
Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.” So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. (Genesis 11:4, 7, 8 NIV)
♥ The people were proud and they were just thinking of themselves. Their plans were egotistical and selfish. That’s why God destroyed their plan and confused their language.
♥ Even the greatest of human powers cannot defy God and long survive.
Genesis 12 “When God Says Go, Don’t Delay”
1 The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.
So Abram left, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran. (Genesis 12:1, 4 NIV)
♥ It’s important to always DO what God says. God’s commands are right
and it’s for our own good. In this chapter, God spoke to Abram and commanded him to leave his hometown and everything in it and go to a new place. He didn’t even think twice. He left just as God commanded him and everything went well.
♥ Even if life may give us heartaches and troubles, as long as we have God and we always obey Him, everything will be alright.
Genesis 13 & 14 “God Who Delivers”
And blessed be God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything. (Genesis 14:20 NIV)
♥ God knows my every need, struggle and pain.
♥ God knows when and how to deliver His children. This chapter talks about how God delivered Abram and Lot from those who are against them…about how the kings had their battles. And God did something right at that moment. He was the one who delivered their enemies into Abram’s hands and they defeated them.
♥ It’s important that I must keep walking in His path.
Genesis 15 “God is My Shield And Great Reward”
After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” (Genesis 15:1 NIV)
♥ NLT- “..I will protect you and your reward will be great.”
AMP- “..I am your shield, your abundant compensation, and your reward shall be exceedingly great.”
NKJV- “..I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”
♥ God is my SHIELD-> He will protect me and deliver me.
♥ Great reward-> God Himself is the reward…
♥ God being the reward himself is utterly amazing! Like in fairy tales, there are fairy godmothers or genies who will grant my wishes. In this real world, I have God who will not only grant my desires but will also see to it that those desires are according to His will. It means that He only wants the best for me.
Genesis 16 “Impatience Leads To Destruction”
2 so she said to Abram, “The Lord has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her.”
Abram agreed to what Sarai said. He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress. Then Sarai said to Abram, “You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the Lord judge between you and me.” (Genesis 16:2, 4, 5 NIV)
♥ Sarai became impatient and because of this, something bad happened. The moment she decided to give Hagar to Abram, there she allowed herself to be open for pain and destruction.
♥ Even if it lingers- wait for it. :)
Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. (Habakkuk 2:3b)
♥ God holds our future. Never doubt that. He is the Author of Time. Wait and be patient!
Genesis 17 “Consecrate Yourself”
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless. (Genesis 17:1 NIV)
♥ El-Shaddai-> sovereign king of the world who grants, bless, and judges. “God of more than enough”.
♥ AMP- “..walk and live habitually before me and be perfect (blameless, wholehearted, complete).”
NLT- “..serve me faithfully and live a blameless life.”
Genesis 18 “Nothing Is Too Hard For The Lord”
Is anything too hard for the Lord? (Genesis 18:14a NIV)
♥ Nothing within God’s will, including creation and redemption is impossible for Him.
“Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. (Jeremiah 32:17)
The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:26-27)
Genesis 19 “God Delivers Because He Is Merciful”
When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the Lord was merciful to them. (Genesis 19:16 NIV)
♥ Deliverance is due to divine mercy, not to human righteousness.
♥ It’s just amazing how God delivered Lot and his family. Despite Lot’s hesitation, God still delivered him completely because He already planned to do so. That’s how merciful He is. That even at the point of hesitation, He still delivers His children.
His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation. (Luke 1:50)
Genesis 20 “God Honors Integrity”
Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know you did this with a clear conscience, and so I have kept you from sinning against me. That is why I did not let you touch her. (Genesis 20:6 NIV)
♥ MSG- “..I know your intentions were pure.”
NLT- “..I know you are innocent.”
AMP- “..I know you did this in the integrity of your heart.”
♥ Sometimes, we get trapped by the mistakes of other people, but when God sees that we’re innocent, our intentions are pure and we have integrity, He will deliver us. He honors integrity.
♥ It’s important that I’m living a life of integrity and purity.
Genesis 21 “God, The Author Of Time”
Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him. (Genesis 21:2 NIV)
♥ AMP- ..”at the set time God had told him.”
NLT- “..just the time God said it would.”
♥ God is the Author of time. He alone can make things happen at its perfect time. Trust His clock.
Genesis 22 “Obey And Surrender”
“Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.” (Genesis 22:12 NIV)
♥ If we fear God, we will obey Him wholeheartedly.
♥ Satan tempts us in order to make us fall; God tests us in order to confirm our faith or prove our commitment.
♥ Surrendering everything to God is the mark of our faith.
♥ HAVE FAITH ♥ FEAR GOD ♥ OBEY ♥ LET GO
*How far am i willing to go to completely obey God? Am i willing to surrender the things that i love to Him?
Genesis 23 “Favor In A Foreign Land”
“Sir, listen to us. You are a mighty prince among us. Bury your dead in the choicest of our tombs. None of us will refuse you his tomb for burying your dead.” (Genesis 23:6 NIV)
♥ NLT- “..You are an honored prince among us.”
MSG- “..You’re no mere outsider here with us, you’re a prince of God.”
♥ Being in a foreigner is not easy. Some people might not treat us right and some might welcome us with kindness. Abraham was a foreigner and in this chapter, I’ve learned that the people didn’t treat him as one. They treated him instead with kindness and made him choose Sarah’s tomb. I am reminded that God favors His children. Abraham was a foreigner. I am not. This is my father’s land and this is mine too. So if Abraham was favored in a foreign land, how much more will I be favored in my own land? wow! It’s just time to trust God’s heart and never give up hoping for the best!
Genesis 24 “Nothing Can Hinder God’s Plan”
Laban and Bethuel answered, “This is from the Lord; we can say nothing to you one way or the other. Here is Rebekah; take her and go, and let her become the wife of your master’s son, as the Lord has directed.” (Genesis 24:50, 51 NIV)
♥ NLT- “..The Lord has obviously brought you here, so there’s nothing we can say.”
AMP- “..The thing comes forth from the Lord; we cannot speak bad or good to you.”
MSG- “..This is totally from God. We have no say in the matter, either yes or no.”
NET- “..This is the Lord’s doing. Our wishes are of no concern.”
♥ If something is from the Lord, nothing can hinder it! It will eventually happen!
♥ If it’s meant to be, it will be.
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.
I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do. (Isaiah 46: 10-11)
